Proud to support Age UK campaign to end loneliness

Hay Hampers is delighted to be supporting Age UK by donating hampers to their Celebrity Christmas Hamper Auction

You could win your favourite celebrity’s Christmas hamper filled with delicious Christmas treats as well as some personal signed goodies whilst helping to raise heaps for Age UK.

It’s heartbreaking to think that more than a million older people say they haven’t spoken to a friend, neighbour or family member for over a month. Although this is the case throughout the year, loneliness may be felt most strongly over the festive season. Age UK wants to combat this by providing companionship, advice and support for older people facing later life alone.

Although we are a small family-run businees, we consider important to be sitting next to big names such as Waitrose and Walkers in support of this campaign against loneliness among older people especially in the festive season.

Bid on eBay from Friday December 4

A host of celebrities have shared the contents of their perfect hamper and Age UK will be auctioning them on ebay from Friday 4 December until Sunday 13 December. To find out more about the auction, and place your bid, please visit www.ageuk.org.uk/hampers . All funds raised will go to Age UK.

You can bid to win one of the following hampers:

  • Ronnie Wood
  • Olly Murs
  • Lesley Joseph
  • Samantha Bond
  • Ainsley Harriott
  • Len Goodman

Lesley Joseph, Birds of a Feather actress, has chosen  a Christmas pudding, chicken noodle soup and aniseed balls for her hamper. She has also donated a pair of signed stilettos worn by her character, Dorien Green, in a past Christmas Special. Lesley says:Chicken soup with noodles reminds me so much of Christmas as  no one made chicken soup like my mother. It takes me back to my childhood and lots of people round the table for Christmas. Christmas pudding with sixpences in it because this is what my father always did and although none of us were very keen on the pudding we always ate it to get the sixpences.  Happy days”.

We wish you happy bidding!
