Celebrating 35 years of Hay Hampers
Back in the early 80s, when Michael Jackson was ‘thrilling’ and the first Apple Macintosh went on sale, husband and wife - Jeremy and Rachael were running a wine merchant business and had the ingenious revelation that the only thing better than good wine was combining it with great food!
And so our Lincolnshire based gift hamper company was born. Named Hay Hampers after Jeremy’s family name of de la Hay combining well with its rural origins - the company started in the barn in their garden assembling food and wine gifts. Originally selling mainly to local businesses wishing to send gifts to customers and employees, now we sell to business and private customers alike and ship all over the world.
With the early adoption of the internet establishing a website as early as 1996, Hay Hampers took full advantage of all the opportunities and benefits they foresaw for e-commerce. The company has always been forward thinking and innovative but based on a rock-solid foundation of traditional values, high quality and personal service. From there, the business has gone from strength to strength.
Now in its second generation with Gabriele and Elisabeth who took over the company in 2014, we continue to build on our 35 years of experience and passion for all things delicious. We are planning a little party, where there will of course be plenty of food and drink as the traditional gifts for a 35 year anniversary (jade or coral) are not very tasty!
So here is to the next 35 - because finding new suppliers and products, thinking up new hamper ideas and delivering pure happiness to our customers’ recipients never gets old! Cheers to us and to all the customers over the years who have enabled us to reach this prestigious point.
Thank you!
