All About Aperol: The Season's Favourite Spritz
Seeing Aperol Spritz on menus everywhere? Now that the sun’s shining and summer is in full swing, the Italian tipple is sweeping the UK - but it’s been doing the rounds in Venice for far longer.
Aperol was invented in Padua in 1919, and the cocktail Aperol Spritz became popular in the 50s. It’s made up of a combination of three shots of Prosecco, two of Aperol and one of soda water - known as the 3-2-1 recipe.
It’s typically served as an aperitif, with a generous helping of snacks on the side. If you want to recreate the Italian experience at home, our Complete Spritz Time Gift hamper comes with everything you need - including an orange for garnish and olives for accompaniment.
